Wine Chardonnay

Short Story Collection Six Flowers

The three wines in the Short Story Collection each focus on a specific part of the history, or philosophy, of the estate. This wine pays tribute to the story of Maria Magdalena Marais, the young widow who took over the building of the manor house after the death of her husband, Charles, in 1813.

As a tribute to her children, she personally created and placed six flowers representing her five children and herself in the gables of the manor house. This wine is a blend of six white grape varieties, Chenin Blanc 30%, Chardonnay 30%, Sauvignon Blanc 20%, Viognier 1%, Gewurztraminer 5% and Weisser Riesling 5%.

The result is a wine full of the interesting flavours of citrus, spice and floral notes with a complex, yet youthful, palate ending in a long aftertaste. This wine is light enough to be enjoyed on its own or with your favourite summer salad or fresh sushi.
