The name of this wine may sound familiar and this is because Mulderbosch has bottled a red blend under this name for many years. The red blend has a very faithful following amongst wine lovers and so a white blend has been released under the same label. Mulderbosch Faithful Hound White is a blend of majority Semillon, from an old bushvine vineyard in Franschhoek, and the balance is Sauvignon Blanc from Elgin. The Semillon and the Sauvignon Blanc were fermented in barrel before blending. The blended wine was then returned to the barrel for a further 3 months to seal the marriage.
This wine is elegant and balances freshness with intensity of flavour. For those who enjoy a bold white wine, this is an excellent choice, however the true beauty of this wine will really show after approximately 5 years of good cellaring.
