Pierneef Shiraz Viognier
At La Motte the restaurant, the Shiraz studio and, of course, the museum with many artworks from the celebrated local artist, honour Pierneef. The Rupert family have great admiration for Pierneef with whom they share a love for the South African land. Jacob Hendrik Pierneef was born in Pretoria in 1886.
During 1900 the family moved to Holland, where the works of old masters made a lasting impression on him.
The museum boasts an extensive collection of his work and La Motte pays tribute to this master through art, wine and food.
