How many of us flock to the Ceres Valley, or more specifically, the mountains, after the first heavy snowfall every winter? Or maybe you’ll decide to take the ‘alternative, longer route’ to the Cederberg on your next camping trip. Did you know that you’re passing some of the best wines you’ve possibly ever tasted?
The farm is situated at the foot of the Gydo Pass as you exit the Ceres Valley to the north, and apart from the two award winning wines they produce, they’re also well known for superb dried fruit products sold under the Cecilia’s World brand. Pop in for a wine tasting and stock up on fruit and nut snack packs for the hiking trip.
On the nose: the Shiraz boasts an exotic bouquet of ripe berries with hints of wild herbs, which compliment the flavours of pecan nuts and cumin spice.
On the palate: flavours of pecan nuts and cumin spice which add a level of earthiness to the overall flavour of the wine.
