Méthode Cap Classique

For John Loubser, Silverthorn, was a dream which started in 1999 when he and his wife Karen, took this farm in the Robertson Valley over from her late dad. The challenge was to transform this farm into an exclusive boutique winery in their free time.

John was the winemaker at Graham Beck at that time and discovered his passion for Method Cap Classique whilst working under the mentorship of Pieter Ferreira. The first vintage was released in 2006 and immediately the world took note of this outstanding wine. The top accolade in South Africa – 5 stars in The Platter’s
