This classic, oak matured symphony of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc which embodies the estate’s understated elegance, is the latest edition to the cellar’s elite range which has earned Eikendal a myriad of accolades in 2013. The latest being 5 stars in the Platter’s Wine guide for 2014.

It is not your typical wood chewing robust red, but a sensual yet substantial one which reflects the character and quality inherent in the grapes. Each component of the wine spent 16 months in barrel before blending.

On the nose: wine has all the full aromatic fruit flavours which entices the nose, it is reminiscent of a classic Bordeaux-style blend, with everything held in check, well-mannered, pure and elegant.

On the palate: silky tannins provide great potential for further cellaring but already shows a fine velvet finish. This wine is the necessary partner for a hearty red meat dish or, if you’re daring, try it with a rich, chocolate dessert.
