Monneaux restaurant is located in what was one of Franschhoek’s first perfumeries and is situated in the beautiful grounds of Franschhoek Country House. Chef, Louis Jansen, and his talented team present contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with a Cape Malay influence at this award-winning restaurant, which has been voted one of South Africa’s Top 100 restaurants for the past six years. It is an enchanting environment overlooking the Tuscan-style courtyard, where the many water features provide soothing, muted background sounds. To get the full experience, try the tasting menu paired with the best of local wines.

Chef Louis Janse, sources fresh local ingredients – some of which are picked fresh from the gardens on the grounds. The tasting menu takes one on a journey, from plates with local flavours such as creamy mussels encased in a delicate tempura batter and thinly shaven potato frites, to hints of Asian cuisine with a sushi-style salad dish – a delicate rice stack served with a mouth-watering Soy reduction. This dining experience is perfect for a celebration such as an intimate dinner with someone special.
