Babylonstoren Candide
White
Simonsberg-Paarl
2018
Candide is a new release from Babylonstoren in 2018. The wine is named for an observation made by Candide, the title character in the book of the same name, by French philosopher and writer, Voltaire, when he said that we should all tend our gardens. Being that the garden is central to Babylonstoren as a whole, it is a fitting homage. The wine is a blend of 45% Chenin Blanc, 24 % Viognier, 16% Chardonnay and 15% Semillon.
Tasting Notes: fruit driven and tropical with flavours of peach, lime and litchi, rounded off with a lingering fresh acidity.
