Andy Mitchell Wines Pinot Noir 2011
Red
Elgin
2011
Good Pinot Noir is always a treat and is best served slightly chilled, especially during the hot summer weather around Christmas.
It is the perfect wine to enjoy during a long lunch – it is a lighter wine and one doesn’t feel weighed down after the second glass. This is a good wine for those who might not like a heavy red wine, yet don’t feel like drinking white wine all day.
On the nose: it has the sweet aroma of buttery clafoutis tarts, strawberries, ripe tomatoes and smokey bacon.
On the palate: the wine is light yet the flavour is reminiscent of strawberry sherbet and Morello cherries, with a hint of wild earthy mushroom and fresh thyme.
