The Mary Delany Collection Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: A delicate style with layers of cherry and wild raspberries on the pallet with a hint of spice on the nose. This wine has a good acidity, showing a floral lift on the finish.
Pairs well with: The soft tannin structure would pair with a range of dishes from chicken to pork and even lamb.
Label inspiration: Owner of Botanica Wines, Ginny Poval writes: “The inspiration for the name of the wine and the design of the labels was a trip to Yale Center for British Art. An exhibition of Mary Delany’s work – a remarkable series of botanical collages, beautifully crafted with hundreds of tiny pieces of cut paper – was breathtaking. My farm was the first farm in South Africa to cultivate Protea flowers, so the labels bring together the history of the farm, my passion for art and hopefully a fine wine that lives up to the stunning artwork.”
