Tasting notes: This refreshingly styled Sauvignon Blanc presents a bouquet of tropical fruit including gooseberries, granadillas and ripe figs. Flavours of tropical fruit follow through with citrus and hints of asparagus accompanied by a soft acidity. A complex, fresh and lively wine with a sophisticated, elegantly styled mid-palate.
Pairs well with: Freshly grilled line fish and salads and would be the perfect accompaniment to noisy, lingering summer lunches of oysters.
Label inspiration: Greg, drawing on his years of marketing experience, chose to name the winery Brothers, inspired by his two sons aged 5 and 2 at the time. Professional art director and graphic designer, Chris Campbell, was briefed to come up with a concept that reflected the sentimentality, serenity, tranquillity and simplicity that contribute to what Greg refers to as life’s ‘true wealth’. It needed, however, to be depicted in a clean, uncluttered and impactful way, so as to reflect the brand essence of Brothers Wines and its owner-winemaker Greg Castle’s personality, in a meaningful, honest and entirely different way to the range of labels that crowd the retail shelves currently.
