Morning Detox Lemon and Ginger Water

2 ½ C (625 ml) water
1 thumb sized piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
½ lemon, washed and sliced
1 Tbsp (15 ml) honey (optional)
Pour the water into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Alternatively, heat in a glass microwave-safe jug.
Add the lemon and ginger slices and allow to steep for at least 15 mins to get the maximum benefit. Remove from the heat and add the honey to taste. Stir to combine.
Strain the lemon and ginger and reheat, if preferred, just before drinking.
