Wine Farm Picnics in Franschhoek
Enjoy the scenic views of the Drakenstein Mountains and the vineyards that Alleé Bleue wine estate has to offer. While you’re admiring the view you can nibble on one of many dishes in their fantastic picnic basket like Braised Beef Wraps with Wasabi Tzatziki. Boschendal Wine Estate
This celebrated wine estate has been known for their signature picnic baskets (or boxes rather) for many years. Boschendal has two different picnic sites – The Werf and Rhone. Once you choose a site, you’ll choose a basket that will be filled with healthy, tasty, wholesome dishes and much of the produce is sourced from Boschendal itself. Cosecha is a Latin-American restaurant located at Noble Hill Wine Farm in Simondium. We’ve included them on this list because they ingeniously offer picnics for kids so that parents can wine taste and eat in relative peace. Baskets include a drink, a packet of chips, a fruit stick and a meal chosen from the menu (things like cheesy quesadillas or a PB&J sarmie). Vergelegen Wine Estate
Vergelegen is located in Somerset West and the scenic wine estate plays host to some of the finest wine farm picnics this summer. The picnic area is set up in a lush camphor tree forest, seeded from the original giant camphors planted three centuries ago. Nibble on the tasty treats surrounded by gorgeous greenery.
