Bartinney: Unmissable Summer Music & Wine Events
At the heart of Bartinney is wine, its relationship with time well spent and the spectacularly diverse and dynamic Banhoek valley, which is home to the estate.
What’s on at Bartinney this summer
Following the success of Bartinney’s winter ‘Under the Roof’ live acoustic wine and music nights and ‘Vinyl Beats Night’, the team have put together a line-up of summer events (including a Halloween party), to allow guests to immerse themselves in the complete Friday night package: wine, exceptional views, a full moon, live music and like-minded company – it’s all about great combinations.
‘Under the Stars’ is the flagship, an idea devised last spring to celebrate warm evenings and the unrivalled view as the mountains blush pink as the sun goes down.
Each event has its own charm, with different live acoustic acts, including the soulful melodies of Paige Mac and Taleswapper, and food from the braai, or the Cape’s finest food trucks. The newly constructed Bartinney stage, nestled in our fynbos garden sits under the stunning Bartinney Elevage sculpture, so that live acts can be seen and enjoyed by all around.
This year, in time for Halloween is ‘Bewitched by Bartinney’, a two-story house of terror Bartinney Style.
The night is fitting as Bartinney takes its name from ‘Tinne’, which means holly bush. The Druid people of yester-year burnt the trees on Halloween signalling the end of the year and the start of the next. For just R50 at-the-door, guests will be greeted with a glass of savage punch, bonfires and a ton of ghostly goodness. Guests will get together some zombies, blow away the cobwebs, and put on their ghoulishly glamorous glad rags.
Vinyl Beats Night and Vinyl Views Night at Bartinney
Joining the events series are ‘Vinyl Beats Night’ at the Bartinney Wine & Champagne Bar in central Stellenbosch and ‘Vinyl Views Night’ on the wine estate. Hosted by our resident DJ Laing De Villiers, the pop-in and chill-out events will continue throughout the summer.
On the evening an eclectic selection of laidback tunes are spun of the decks, from Laing’s enviable record collection.
