If you’re a beer lover and appreciate a finely crafted brew then you must stop in at Tuk Tuk microbrewery in the heart of Franschhoek.

The brewery has a fermentation capacity of 4 000-litres with eight 500-litre fermenters that are fully temperature controlled for optimised fermentation control and lagering. It has one temperature controlled open fermenter for atmospheric fermentation and yeast harvesting, as well as one 2 000-litre cooled water tank which contains the brew water, regularly supplied from the Leeu Estates’ mountain spring.

The brewery is perfectly placed to sit and enjoy a beer and food while doing a bit of people watching. The Tuk Tuk ‘Taqueria’ serves fresh and authentic Mexican food (think nachos, ceviche, and tacos) which pair perfectly with the craft brews. Six CBC beers are on offer, namely the CBC Lager, CBC Harvest Lager (seasonal) CBC Mandarina Bavaria IPA, CBC Oktoberfest Beer (seasonal), CBC Imperial IPA, CBC Pilsner, CBC Amber Weiss, CBC Krystal Weiss and CBC Red Weiss (seasonal). There are also Tuk Tuk branded beers, namely a Lager, Weiss, Dunkel and Pale Ale. Exclusive, handcrafted Tuk Tuk seasonal brews are also regularly released.
