Wine tasting is paired with a platter of delicious bites such as biltong (made on site) paired with the estate’s flagship Shiraz and a dark chocolate and hazelnut truffle paired with the estate’s Cape Ruby Port. Book for lunch at the restaurant, The Kitchen at Maison – a bistro-style setting with an open frontage and a spectacular verandah overlooking the garden and vineyard. Delicious menu items from Chef, Arno Janse van Rensburg, change with the season and are always inspired and beautiful. For some amazing take-home additions to your foodie pantry, visit The Deli, located inside the tasting room. Pick up preserves, pickles, chutneys and even lemons freshly picked from the lemon trees in the garden. You may see chickens wandering around the estate, or even Porcini the pot-bellied pig – his moods are fairly temperamental, so don’t be alarmed if he greets you with a disgruntled oink.
